Profile: Phil Bergstresser

Personal background
I'm running 4 computers, an old HP Unix PA-7200/9000/712/100 box, and Wintel P3 500, P3 600, and P4 1900 Mhz. Can't catch up to my colleagues. What in the world is Ron running? He must have a whole house of machines networked!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't believe et life exists. I support this project for two reasons: first to be a part of such an enormous distributed computing project, and second to help prove that this method at least fails to reveal life.

I am considering switching to more valuable peer to peer projects that can benefit mankind, such as the cancer cure project and the Alzheimers cure project. The anthrax project is available too, but the others are more attractive to me.

I think SETI@home has advanced the state of computer science.
