| I am a senior at the University of Texas @ Austin working to obtain my BA in Computer Science. I am interseted (sort of in order, but not really) in music composition, raytracing, piddling with the super hero trio of Apache, mySQL and PHP, distributed/parallel computing (duh :), and am starting to get back into model railroading. I also have a blog at my website, which is where you can also find music and art that I have created. I also have a lovely fiance and when I am not doing the above things; or, on occasion hangin' with the homies, I am with her (which usually takes precedence of most things). Oh yeah...and doing homework. Speaking of that...OH CRAP!!! |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I think SETI@Home strives to accomplish a grand purpose. Granted, it might be somewhat far-fetched, but I think as humans we are alone with each other. I think that is because we lack perspective and direction and while the chances are slim we should ever find any life beyond our Earth for some time yet, it is more than worth trying. It might be idealistic but I really do think that when the day comes that we find out that we are not alone, that humanity will finally be whole. |
