Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I believe in Aliens? The short answer is maybe. Lets look at a few things. The human race is an aggressive race that destroys anything it disagrees with or disagrees with it. Look at the movie, Gremlins. It’s a parody of ourselves, we are the Gremlins. It’s repeated again in the Matrix, “SCUM” the computer called us. Even in Star Trek they claimed to be peace loving and yet every week they were fighting something in the name of peace. Even Stephen Hawking calls us a “Chemical Scum”. If we are “lucky” enough to find a signal that proves promising I hope to god that we don’t find the source and destroy it.
God, there’s a point. If the “Big Bang” theory is true then where is God. Likewise if other intelligent life forms are found to be more, or less advanced than us then god is no longer the higher power. What place religion?
So many questions!
But hey, I'll carry on crunching. It gives the computer something to do while I am at work.
