Personal background
I'm from Las Vegas Nevada, born originally in New York. I'm 17 turning 18 Aug. 25. Right now I'm about to start the fall semester at college, I'm going to be a PA (Physician's Assistant) but later on after I gain experience, I was thinking of going into Astrobiology. Hobbies are reading the works of the greek writer, Homer, Astronomy, Radio Astronomy, and Music. Hopefully we find Extraterrestrials in my lifetime, that's my biggest hope in my life.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life has to exist, the only way we can find it, is if we look with the intent that there is life out there. The Chances of life even existing in space have to be unbelievable, but we are that exception, so that cuts the chances in half. Humans may find hope in finding life by working together. By working together, all the knowledge that we have would make us an unbelievable power and race. We could build our technology together, and come up with things that we never dream of. But "The power to search and find starts at the mind". The benefits of such a discovery would help every type of life gain an understanding of what we're doing here, and what we should do with our gift of living and being.
Humans must transmit a signal, it's the fastest means of contact that we have to date. The information that we send is the most influential on the type of race we are. It should be of what we stand for, our achievements, and most important of all, our traditions.
I run SETI home for one reason only, I feel that the only thing I can do right now in my life, is support other projects that are out there until I can work or be on the staff of one of these teams. I see recently that the field of Astrobiology is promising with the Mars Mission. SETI gives people hope, and it gives people meaning to their lives.
It would also be a good idea to have an area on the website for Amateur radio astronomy and other projects of intrest.

Remember, "The power to search and find, starts at the mind"
