I'm an Amateur Radio Operator based in Queensland, Australia and hold an Advanced class licence with the call-sign VK4KRL.
This is equivalent to the Amateur Extra Class in the United States, or the First Class Amateur Radio Operator Certificate in Japan.
Being a keen electronics and computer technician, I'm always researching new technologies (particularly where they pertain to scientific exploration and discovery).
Amateur Astronomy is also at the top of my interests so whenever time permits, I'm out on clear nights observing the universe.
There are three key locations I like to visit when I'm on the road:
- Australia Telescope Compact Array at the Narrabri Observatory (Radio Astronomy)
- CSIRO Parkes Observatory (Radio Astronomy)
- Siding Spring Observatory at Coonabarabran (Optical Astronomy)
I work in Information Technology and Finance, so it's really no accident that all these hobbies combine to bring me to SETI@home. |
