Personal background
I live in the Netherlands. I'm 65 years old. I used to work as a senior system-analist for a military air-traffic control centre and currently retired.
My hobbies are: astronomy
Biking
Speed skating
Inline skating
Reading (SF)
Programming (in Ada and C )

I'm married and I have two children, a daughter who runs a DNA-lab for DOW in Portland and a son who is master in law.
Recently I am now grandfather of two beautiful grandsons named Arjun and Neil (they live in the USA)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1 I think extraterrestrial life exists. I think I would be very lonely
this vast universe if we were to be the only life. I don't know when
but I'm convinced we will discover signs indicating there is life
elsewhere in the universe.

2 I don't think it is necessary to install a beacon since we are pouring
considerable amounts of EM-waves into space.

3 I run seti@home because of the arguments I mentioned above.
