Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1a. I think ET life somewhat likely but given the unlikely conditions of our world - i.e. the role the moon has played in evolution, the numerous mass extinctions and the relative stability of our star, I often wonder if life springs up but doesn't quite make it to the point where their communications leave their planet.
3. I like to be part of a large scale project whose work is done without any conscious effort on my part!
