Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I set up SETI in our school on some of our older computers and labs so that some less-used machines could serve some sort of purpose. At some point it would be nice to translate all that computer work into a research project for somebody or if nothing else, just a nice side note somewhere in some school publication.

I have no idea if this work or any other will find life in other systems during our lifetimes. I imagine they'd all come and vaporize us anyway... I'm not convinced a higher life form would automatically accept peace and prosperity as an ultimate trait. If in fact that is the case though, who wouldn't be proud of processing THE signal that terminated our existence? What an opportunity.
