Personal background
Well, where do i start.

I work for a small ISP in Warrington, England as tech support/systems administrator. This basically means that i do a bit of everything really, from taking support calls to setting up customer websites.

My job at the ISP has enabled me to do something that i've wanted to do for a long time - which is to learn Linux. I've been working on a Linux 'Play' machine for about a month now, and i'm doing ok.

Its just a PII 333 with 128MB ram, but its running 3 domains at the moment (web, mail, news) but of course in its spare time, its crunching away at those WU's :>

Other machines that run SETI are: a Celery (sorry, Celeron) 500, a PII 350, a P233, and soon 3 AMD 333's. Not very quick, but they get there in the end!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I definately think that there is intelligent life out there somewhere. Where is another matter, but i that that it is very bigoted of someone to believe that we are the only ones here.

I mean, who/what created us? We just don't know, and if we don't know that then how can we say that others weren't created at the time?

Bearing in mind that the universe is infinite, there has got to be something out there. I run SETI@Home because I like to think that i'm giving something to the community at large (not just computer users, everyone, because thats who it will affect).
I realise that i may not be the user to return that magical results file, but the work my machines are doing are getting us one step closer.
