Personal background
Hi! :)
I'm a 21 year old biology student from germany. i like playing computer games and spending a lot of time with my friends. i mostly hear all kinds of rock music and i never say "no" to a good party! :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.
To my mind it is very possible that there exists extraterrestrial life (or has existed / will exist). i don't think that they will be like the aliens from any sf movies (except for the bugs in "starship troopers"). they will probably be in an earlier or later stadium of evolution than we are. and why should the atmosphere on their planet be the same as ours? they could be totaly different from us - just because of the different environment they could have, which would mean that they have a totally different evolution than we have. perhaps some kind of dinosaurs or insects rule the planet - perhaps a highly developed race totally different from us humans with a lot of technology and so on :)
i could write a whole book about that - but these are my first thoughts and oppinions i always have.

2.
I think that we should transmit a beacon - no matter what kind it is! if there exists another lifeform which has the technology to recieve the signal, they will be able to analyse and interpret it. but it could possibly be that it takes so long until the signal reaches the planet so that this civilisation may already have died. nobody knows :)

3.
I just want to know whats going on out there, although i think that i won't see the results in my life. my computer is running all the time - why not running seti@home?! :)
