Profile: Greybeard

Personal background
I would suspect that I am considered one of the \\"senior citizen\\" searchers, but I am an all around \\"gear head\\" ( that was what geeks used to be called ), I have always been inquisitive, and since I always have a few computers I play with it seemed only natural that the spare cycles be allocated for something off the beaten path.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Technically speaking, I would like to see the source code be more easily packagable and buildable for various architectures especially some of the older and slower ones. There is a tremendous amount of old slow idle computers that could cooperatively contribute to solving problems.
