| I think extraterrestrial life exists out there, somewhere. No one can actually say for sure when we find life in the Universe, but we can only hope that we DO find life. As far as HOW humans discover E.T. is really up to all of us here on Earth. I do have a belief on that matter... A human being will discover E.T. FIRST and He, or She, will be able to touch that life, whether it may be big or small, and say, "Hello." Most people would like to argue that a probe, or robot, will discover life, but a machine can not discover life, for it is a lifeless object that can only detect and see images. A human being on the other hand, can touch it, see it, smell it, and hear it. Of course, such a manned mission of the likes would be dangerous and costly. It could take generations, upon generations, of family to complete such a fantastic journey. Many people would have to make a sacrifice and say, "Good-bye," to Earth, but we all have to make sacrifices somewhere to get ahead in life. Our curiousity of E.T. will kill us before we give up any hope. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?...Sure, why not? It doesn't hurt to try and we've got to try something extra...But here's a question for the reader, "Does E.T. have compatible equipment to read the beacon?"...E.T.'s technology could either be behind us, or way ahead of us, or so far different that we couldn't communicate anyway. They could be using a mini-sub-frequency that can't be detected, for all we know. However, if mankind still insisted on using a beacon of some sort, then the information should first include, "We are the Citizens of Earth...We can be a peaceful planet...But we can also protect our species...You are welcome to visit this blue planet...But you must arrive without arms or weapons." As far as the language structure of that message, well, We could try to use a powerful laser signal that is encoded with binary and hexidecimal format. I'm a strong believer in the universal language of numbers(not enough room to complete.) |
