Personal background
From Breda, The Netherlands.

Working as a helpdesk-techie in Antwerp-area, Belgium.

Interested in the unknown and in a good theory about everything man has still questions about.

I guess that is why I love to watch the Discovery Channel.

Also I like to surf the internet and try to find answers to questions still haunting me, like :

* Atlantis, did it really exist ?
* What the hell happened in Varginha, Brasil ?
* Why has the Sfinx in Egypt a crypt build under it ?
* Why is the date 10.500 BC so important ?
* Why are there drawings of 'astronauts' found in the Mayan-culture ?
* Is there really 'life' out there ?

Anyway...questions far too complex for a simple helpdesk-techie like me !

By installing the SETI@home screensaver I hope to contribute my piece to solve
one of the puzzles mankind is hunting.

Ending with the words of the immortal EEK the cat : "It never hurts to help !"
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does ET-Life exists ?
I hope so. I got my doubts. None the less: I got me a nice screensaver !:-)
Who or what says we are on the right track right now ?
Maybe ET's visit the earth because we send out Microwave-oven beams.
Maybe they are less good in maths then us ? Who can say ?

First let us find out if they are searching for us, before giving our position in the universe away. ET's might have not as good intentions as we have got with them...
And if they really have allready visited earth, they are allready technologicly advanced. That is on the one side a wonderful opportunity, on the other side a big disadvantage. And are they going to bring unknown diseases or not ?
If I recall my history-lessons : A simple flu, brought from europe, killed 25 % of the native indian population in the 15-hundreds. And didn't a famous french philosopher once said "L'histoire sur repete" (History repeats itself)

In conclusion Let's say : I got my doubts.

My participation in the Seti@home project : Just curioustity !
and like I said "It never hurts to help !"
