Personal background

I'm age 50, and live in Revere, Massachusetts - 5 miles north of Boston. I've been interested in the possibility of intelligent life in the universe for as long as I can remember.

I believe that the S.E.T.I program will, in my lifetime, detect radio signals that will be confirmed and verified as being actual radio signals from a planet inhabited by intelligent beings!

I have a strong interest in both the UFO mystery, and in the paranormal, simply because of the many, many reports from intelligent people from all walks of life who have been eyewitnesses to, and have provided photographs, motion picture films, and video recordings to back up their reports.

I sincerely hope that the Seti@Home program will go on scanning the heavens for those elusive signals that will indicate the presense of life elsewhere in our universe.

I harbor a firm belief that any kind of anomolies should be investigated in a serious scientific manner, and that those involved should view the evidence with an open mind, and in a few cases, with a grain of salt.

Thank you so much for allowing me to participate in your Seti@Home program, and I wish you all luck in your endeavors.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

1. I firmly believe that extraterrestrial life exists on a distant planet much like our own.

I believe that within the next 20 years or so, that the S.E.T.I program WILL detect distant radio signals that will be proven as signals from an intelligent society that is also trying to make intelligent contact in the universe!

2. I believe that it is our scientific duty to transmit radio signals into deep space, and to continue doing so until we can make a positive contact with intelligent beings who are also trying to contact US!

I believe that the signals we send out should be in a form that will not be difficult to decipher for those that we're attempting to contact. I feel that the signals should contain a rudimentary description of human life on Earth, and that the signals should also contain a query about their planet, and their society.

3. I run the Seti@Home program because I'm proud to be able to assist the people who are trying to reach out into the heavens, and who never tire of their efforts, and who have not given up hope of contacting that distant civilization some day in the near future!

I would not normally participate in a project that I felt had no chance of succeeding, and I'm sure that the majority of the people who run the Seti@Home client on their computers share this conviction.

My personal views on the project are simple: Just keep at it...keep going....and don't give up! We home users will always be here to help!
