Personal background
I'm a 28-year-old, self-employed promotions-manager from Berlin, Germany.
I was always interested in and fascinated by the idea of the existing of extraterrestrial life. Since my job requires me being online a lot, I chose to take part in this great community and do my share of providing resources to a programm, that is really important in my eyes.

I hope to meet some of you and/or exchange views of the SETI-idea via the communication-highway.

Great to be a part of this.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I DO think that extraterrestrial life exist. It would be narrow-minded and pretty well ignorant to think that Planet Earth is the only fragment of molecules and elements that supports life in the vast space we call Universe.
However I don't know if we will ever be able to find another inhabited planet out there, I am more than willing to do my share in supporting a programm that tries exactly this.

2. Since it is difficult to judge, whether a beacon will be understood by possible "co-inhabitants" of the Universe, I think that we should be sending beacons and that they should tend to a some kind of logic algorism.

3. I think SETI@home should offer the possibility of hearing the sound of the scannings that are being analyzed by your own PC, even if it is just static.
It will give the supporters of SETI@home more of the "into-the-fact-of-the-matter"-feel. Even though it will tend to use more of one's PC resources, I think there should be an option to decide for or against it.
