| I'm currently living in Manhattan, KS - Home of Kansas State University where I'm finshing up my undergrad degree in Sociology with a focus on Criminology. I'm 24 years old, I enjoy most sports especially Hockey and Football. I'm into Video Games, Computers, anything related to Technology (ie expensive) :). I started running SETI@Home (back in the classic days) in August of 2000 when a coworker had explained what that screen saver was on his computer. I've been a pretty steady contributor since. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1) I run SETI mostly to contribute to further gaining of knowledge and an attempt to hopefully discover the unknown. I also feel very strongly that idle cpu cycles shouldn't goto waste, so why not have a program (especially those for the greater cause) running while you're not using your computer.
2) I think eventually we will come into contact with 'the signal' that's from another form of civilization. Now where or not that happens in my lifetime is unknown, but it can't hurt to look in the mean time.
3) Keep on sending out the WUs and we'll keep crunching em :) |
