| I am a graduate from Auburn University in MIS. I am a baseball fanatic and am waiting for the day when Dale Murphy gets into the Hall of Fame. I participate not because I think we will find anything, but because by doing nothing, assumptions can decide not to become fact and get you in the end, a nice little aspect to Murphy's Law. |

I strongly believe in the existence of intelligence beyond, I'm not convinced that we will find them in the near future. We are loud and noisy as a planet, so we are more likely to be found, though I doubt that this will occur in the near future. However, just in case, I'm keeping my towel handy.
In general, I think we should wait before contact. ET life may be friendly, or it may not. However, how much do you want to bet on some group on this planet Earth not ruining any contact and getting us into a "situation". I think that both our technology and our world-mind must be more mature so that we could be on more of an equal footing. |
