Personal background
when i aws quite young, i had heard about a movie-whaich i had later seen. it was called E.T. it really did not make any sense to me. the only thing that i understood was that it was a movie about a form of life from beyond our own world. i was captivated....years have passed yet the notion of life existing far away in the depths of the universe still captivates me. i believe in the possibility.
why not? if our world alone can be home to such a various kind of fauna and flora this seemingly endless universe should contain billons of different lifeforms....alien to us....extra terrestrial. and the probability of a fraction of them intelligent enough to transmit signals is high indeed.
in india however the general interest in e.t. is low. but i had heard about seti a lot. thanks to american television and films my interest in knowing more about research in detecting the e.t. life took a new shape, and when i had suddenly landed up on the seti website and learnt that i could contribute to this great effort, i knew what i had to do.
and that is how my profile is here today....
which reminds me to say something about myself
