I think it is quite impossible in this huge universe of ours for intelligent life not to exist elsewhere. What they will be like and whether we would be able to communicate with them is another matter. If we discover a radio signal I have the pessimistic view that by the time we receive it the sender will be long gone - I have the same belief about our signals.
If we transmit a beacon it should contain the basics of a language we could communicate with such as binary code or prime numbers.
I would love to be involved in this momentous discovery - it has to happen some time... |
