I believe that extraterrestrial life does exist. To paraphrase Carl Sagan, "if not its a huge waste".
We certain should transmit beacons for others to find, I believe that we should send information regarding the nature of our beings.
I have run Seti@home for 2 years plus now, several other engineers at my office are running it - its friendly competition for us and fun.
