Currently working as an intern at Sun UK, supporting a large number of "lab" hosts used for recreating customer problems.
SETI running on 1.9Ghz Intel/Linux and Ultra 1 Sparc/Solaris.
Maybe I'll try SETI on an Serengeti (x8xx) soon!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If everyone donated their spare CPU cycles to projects like this, results could be found in no time. For companies there is little administrative, performance and network overheads.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
