Why do you run SETI@home?
Just the possibility that ETI might exist is exciting. SETI@home is a great example of distributed processing and cooperation contrasting low-life adolescents who have nothing better to do than to create viruses, deface websites, and cause malicious mischief.

It's a nice thought to imagine we are not alone in the universe, and that we will find a friendly civilization of beings some day. The benefit would be a new realm to explore, an exchange of ideas and information.a
