Personal background
Let me see, I'm 17. Believe in that extra terrestrial life deal. When I first found out about the hole in the ozone I thought that a load of aliens would come flying through it. I grew up with Star Trek, I guess I sorta believed life would be like that. Flying through the stars, and all. When I was younger, and the Ford Probe had just come out I said I'd like one of them. My dad said that when I grew up, we'd all be in rocket cars. Well, I think he was just a leeeetle bit wrong, but whaddya gonna do. Anyway, enough about backgroud.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Now then, we get onto the real meat between the bread. SETI is an interesting concept. It's unique in how many people its brought together all with a common goal. Programs like SETI@home make people want to upgrade there computers. When people believe in something so much that they will spend hundreds do allow the process to be done quicker, it says a lot. I think SETI is great because it allows the planet to come together to find the citizens of another. Universe is a big place, more friends the better is the way I see it.
