Personal background
There´s nothing much to tell.

I´m an IT consultant, single, male, born 1960 in northern Germany,
Living on 5 different places troughout whole Germany over the last 10 years, but now back at Hamburg, where I´ll try to stay for a longer while.
Brown hair, brown eyes, one sister, one brother, three nieces, both parents and a grandma of age 95 who still very fit lives in her own home.

Owner of a little house at the Costa Blanca in Spain. -Which is my favorite place in vacation. (I do speak a little spanish, some remnants from Colombia, when I was a child - but this is another story...)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I belive that somewhere extraterrestrial live does exist.

The universe is such a great, that its impossible that we are alone.
Another question is wether we are able to discover them. Time matters for the great distances. Maybe they are already gone since millions of years, or will develop in millions of years ahead.
Compared only to the lifetime of our own planet, the human existence is not even a short flash. And in relation to the universe...

2. Why shouldnt humans transmit a beacon? If aliens are ever able to understand the informations, a long time will be passed, I doubt that humans will still exist. -I dont believe that hyperspace travelling is possible.

3. I participate in the project, because I think its interesting, an opportunity for my laptops and other systems to do some efficient work.

Well, there is still a chance... -It could be... Hey, if I would find ET! ;-)

-Well the classic screensaver was allways an eyecatcher, the new one is kinda flickering around with silly star sprangles etc. I don´t use it much.
In the old days of classic client I was able to get many informations about the scientific part of the search from the web page, there were some add-ons to show some of those infos derived from my own results. -Sad to see that all is gone...
