Yes, I think extraterrestrial life exists, there are to many other worlds out there. We must continue to explore with all our technical expertise. The benefits and dangers are the same with everything, it's called survival.
Yes, of course we should send a beacon for other to find, it's call communications. The information we send is something that should help the receiver better understand us and help this communication.
