| I am a priest in a small Gnostic Christian revival church in upstate New York. Gnostics believe in the sacred character of knowledge, the authority of each man over his own spiritual beliefs and well-being, and that Jesus showed us the proper dignity of human beings. |

| I am positive that intelligent extraterrestrial life exists. The universe is so mind-bogglingly large not to have duplicated on other planets the evolutionary processes that arose on this earth. To me, the glories of the cosmos speak to the magnificence of Creation. And it's in studying God's handiwork that we'll come to know the Creator ourselves -- in the same way that studying a footprint becomes a study of the foot that made it. I support SETI wholeheartedly, the discovery of an extraterrestrial civilization could be the single greatest achievement of this century, scientifically or spiritually. |
