I'm a major science-fiction reader and watcher. I hope that one day we will find something, whatever it is. I'm a jazz sax player in my college group, the sound engineer for my church, and a computer builder. I play paintball when I get the chance, but now I'm working on making funds to buy and modify a 1970's Camaro Z/28. I am a auto buff in my free time thanks to my friend who bought a 1986 Camaro.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I would like to think that we are not alone, just by the vastness of the universe. It would really be a waste of space to be alone out here. The technological benefits are limitless, the unifying factor of being a race of humans would surely be worth it, but to find a race bent on tyrany and conquest is a risk.

If we start sending out a beacon in our present technological state, whatever is out there may find us to be "backwater" but they would find us.

I run SETI because I feel that the workload of masses of people on millions of computers will expedite the processing of the signals we recieve, ergo let us proceed faster to bigger and better things.
