Personal background
Residing from NSW, I'm in my early 30's, a hard worker and i spend way too much time on my computer as a way to save money from going out.

I believe that if your going to have a hobby, make sure it's something you enjoy as teaching yourself requires almost no effort. Also it would be a benefit to have a hobby you could potentially turn into a business and make an income out of. How many people do you know that would like to be their own bosses one day and are also doing what they love? Not many can say that.

I do agree we would be foolish to think we were the only intelligent life in the universe. One thing we do know is that nature is highly adaptable, if it weren't for a comet hitting earth and wiping out the dinosaurs, our genome may never have had a chance to evolve, instead reptilian derived genomes would have prevailed for many millenia. One thing nature is really good at doing is creating mutants, aren't we all?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Seti as a project endeavours to perhaps take us closer to the reality of answering an age old question we've pondered for thousands of years.

The question of "Are We Alone In The Universe?"

Each and every one of us will have questions about our place in the universe, where we fit in, if there is a god and in what shape or form it will come to us in. These questions will flirt with our imaginations from time to time during our lives and for the most part may never get answered. This project seems like a worthy cause and my small contribution will go towards bringing about an answer to a very big question for all humanity.
