Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have been interested in the universe for quite some time now. Over the years I have owned many telescopes and spent a lot of my time looking and taking pictures of the universe with all of my spare time at night. Now that my eyesight is slowly failing I felt that the least that I could do is LOAN my CPU to people who are looking for life out there.

My hobbies now include building computers and fixing the ones my sons break along with that I live for my family and grand kids.

I am not sure how this contact will happen, but SETI is one of the most possible means that is being explored at this time.

I cannot imagine any dangers we would encounter with a discovery of other life forms.

A BEACON to transmit a signal for someone out there to find is just the reverse of what SETI is doing now, so I see no harm in at least the attempt should be done just in case they are listing as SETI is.
