Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists: Exists? Yes. It would be rather conceited to think we are so darn special that we are the only intelligent life forms in the universe.

If so, when and how will humans discover it: Wish I knew that one..... Not a clue. But then there are folks who seem to think they've already met extraterrestrials. Can't say as how I believe all the stories, but since I wasn't there, can't completely discount them either.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery: There are potential benefits and dangers in all new discoveries. If we are to dwell on that, we should still live in caves. It's the trip, and not so much the destination that matters.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find: Yes.

If so, what information should we send: Definitely NOT how horrible mankind can be.

Why do you run SETI@home: Why not? When I see something worthwhile, I run with it. Health has prevented me from assisting for a while, but I'M BAAACK. With faster computers, more computers, and faster access, no less.

What are your views about the project: Gotta love it.

Any suggestions: No suggestions so far, y'all seem to be handling it better than any government run organization. Okay, so that's not saying much, but you are doing a good job.

PS, I'd send a photo, but I'd hate to scare off all the impressionable little kids who come to your site.
