Profile: Winston Wardle

Personal background
G'day, my name's Winston and I am a 24yo dude from Sydney Australia. I work in IT for the government as a Senior Systems Engineer. My Hobbies include, surfing, computing, driving, Star Trek and reading a good book.

I am a dedicated SETI freak now, having more than a dozen machines churning out units for the cause.

If your reading this to decide whether to join up, then I for one would say "Do it man! It's not as though you use all those spare CPU cycles!" :P
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think SETI is probably one of the most important projects we as mankind can undertake, as it would be a real awakening for us all as a species if we did find other intelligent life.

It would make us realise that because we are not the only beings in the universe we should stop arguing over our petty differences and get on with the more important role of developing ourselves collectively as a species for the betterment of each other. (I know this sounds corny but, sometimes the corniest of ideas are the way things really should be...)

As to SETI@home this is an opportunity for me to add to the possibility of creating at least a small part of the utopic world of which I spoke above.

Good luck to everyone working for SETI, and good luck to us all!!!
