Personal background
I am 52; recently a widower with 3 kids all grown up, and 1 grandson, I live in Enid, OK, which has a laid back pace. I love animals and have two very spoiled dogs. I work as a computer repair tech for a living. Spend most of my time playing with computers, working on them, surfing the net and playing computer games.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I participate in SETI because it is a cause I believe in and hope that we will eventually be successful with this immense project. I think it is totally amazing that so many people from across the world have assembled their efforts and computers through this distributed computing effort. It’s great to see that borders are not a barrier and can easily be overcome when people believe in such a great project! I am running setiathome on a 24/7 basis, gives me hope that in my own tiny little way I am helping the greater good. If I'm able to help us find other life forms and at the same time help to reduce the time and cost by using my computer then I've given something to all mankind.

Extraterrestrial life exists! Of course there is other life forms around. There have been numerous sightings (UFOs) and I hope we can catch and decode their communication transmissions. I would love to be around when we have our first encounter. I think it will be a race very similar to ourselves, explorers, but obviously a bit more advanced, after all they did come to us, something we are just starting to do. The transmission of beacons into outer space should be continued, it will give them something to aim for, otherwise this little blue planet, 3rd from the sun just might get overlooked. By sending words of welcome maybe others will want to come and see us as we are.

Keep up they good work!!!!!
