Personal background
At the age of 16 I stood in the middle of a clover field in the wee early hours of the predawn and begged; do not let my life be ordinary. I was heard. At 48 I can say there has been little I have not experience, taken a chance on or reached for. Wife, mother of two wonderful sons, successful career woman, divorced, soon to be a grandmother, and very soon to be wed again I have not stood still, but have eagerly embraced change.

Currently the Vice President of a nationwide nursing placement company, I enjoy people (that's too tame I adore people) and the job of living. My interests lie in esoterics, history, anthropology, archeology, cryptozoology, heraldry, genealogy, philosophy, cosmologies, and symbolism. Suffice it to say, I love a mystery which is why I am involved with SETI.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In the summer of 1973, my youngest sister and mother experienced bright lights, and a cylinder shaped object over our house in eastern North Carolina in the early hours of the morning. Across the sound (a body of water between the mainland and outer lying islands), police officers and other 'steady' reliable civil servants witnessed strange lights over the Atlantic Ocean.

Do I believe? Yes.

Should we reach out? Yes, while I don't subscribe to the general consensus that we are being visited as a warning, I do believe they are interested spectators, perhaps no more. It's possible they could teach us a lot about ourselves, and maybe breathe life to the ashes of our reason.
