Personal background |
Hi, I'm from England but live in France. I joined SETI in 2002 before more or less forgetting about it until March 2015 when I saw a programme on French telly about seti etc.
So I'm back in...
I'm using a fairly creaky desktop with a weak GPU, so am not expecting great results.
HOWEVER, I happen to have 16 2x4core Xeon (low power consumption) servers available. If there was a version of seti/BOINC that I could put on a USB stick to use these machines it would be fun to see what kind of figures I could achieve. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
There are definitely other lifeforms out there. And some of them are probably broadcasting stuff like we do (not so much for seeking others, but as radio waves for local consumption). So it's worth a go. |
