Personal background
I'm from Farmington, New Mexico. I'm currently 15. I'm a student in high school. I'm in marching band. Hmmmm, you can look me up on http://www.poetry.com. I've written there a few times. My favorite poem I have on there seems to be the least favorite of everyone elses, though. Science has fascinated me since I was around 6. I would sit down in front of the Discovery channel and say "Science is my life." Ever since then I have been practically obsessed with science. Science and Math are my two favorite subjects in school. That and soon computer science. I'll know for sure when I finally take it.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Individuals are relatively smart, but people are complete sheep, stupid sheep. One person gets an idea (or someone feeds them one), so the rest of the group does exactly that. Being a realist that believes in evolution, I believe that this is not the only planet with life on it. Intelligent life is something I've been looking for for a while. If we are to search for intelligent life off of the planet, if would mean that we have run out of things to do, or that we have concluded that there is none here. I think this is a wondrous project. It may even send me in the direction of astronomy instead of computer programming/artificial intel/robotics/math. But then again, maybe it will be among the things I will do with my life. Life is short, and when we get around to doing what we want, there is no time.
