Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that we are not alone in the universe. I think that we will be contacted when the time is right. I think that it could be very beneficial to human kind, but the impact on society would be very vast and changing. I don't think that a icon like the plaque on voyager 1 would do much good. I run SETI@home because you never know who might be on the other end of the line. I do it for fun. I think the project is a very good idea. I works off of mass computing that is very efficient. The only suggestion I could make would be to maybe try to optimize the program to work with new technology like Hyper Threading and multiprocessor systems better. But like the old saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
