Profile: Olaf Lautenschlaeger

Personal background
Hi, I am a system admin of a small software company located in
Rostock, a baltic harbour town and the heart of northeast Germany.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.) There is no evidence that we are alone. So it makes sense to search. Danger? The greatest known danger is mankind itself, so what? The benefit is to meet other beeings, possibly.

2.) Yes, humans should transmit. No informational payload, but a non-stochastic
sign like the "CQ" morse code. Or do we have to send "SOS"?

3.) I'm definitely not a follower of Erich von Daeniken and some others. The SETI manner of approach is strictly scientific. No need to captivate me.
