Retired in Tampa, Florida, meaning I work for even less than before. I am the coordinator of Center for Inquiry Tampa Bay, the West Central Florida secular humanists and skeptics main representative education/charitable organization. I'm also the founder of two technical forums for power quality (lightning protection and surge/harmonic mitigation).

Beginning with SETI, I've been BOINCing since the early 90s, and think it is both a responsible and effective way to contribute to society. As a science fiction writer/fan, SETI has a certain appeal. As an engineer and scholar, working against ignorance, Luddite inclinations, and superstition are main activities of my life.
