I am a 27 year old divorced mother of two boys. My oldest child is 6 and is greatly interested in space and science and arciology. My interests are vast they vary anywhere from knitting and sewing...reading romance, science fiction and science....cooking and gardening...and studying human nature through observation of conversations and body language. I am a Correctional Officer at a state prison here in Florida. I downloaded this program for my sons' and my personal enjoyment in discovering the universe.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do not beleive that we are the only living creatures in this universe...it is simpply to vast to be occupied only by humans. As humans sometimes our egos can be to great for us to accept that we are not perfect. I do beleive that it is highly possible that one of our planets governments have already dicovered the existance of ETs and it is also possible that ETs have already visited us. Either way I am not sure if Earthlings are ready to acknowledge their existance yet. Though hollywood and creative writers are certainly helping that area. Sending out a beacon could be premature at this time...it could be the equivolent of a child walking up to a stranger and asking for a ride in their car...or it could be like asking a nun for a prayer. I think that this project is a wonderful idea to get the human race involved in a mutual interst in discovering if there is life out there. So many of use wish we could be astronauts to dicover just this.
