Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think there is life elsewhere in the universe. Humans will discover it when we are ready and able. Technology and advancements in science will allow us to see, find, and travel to places that we think are impossible to reach now. The only danger I see is that the closed mindedness of this society will block our ability to show who we really are as a people. I think we should transmit a beacon for others to find. We shouls send all pertinent information about our whole world as a people. I run SETI@home because I believe in this project and would like to help out in even this small way. I like the project because it does not interfere with any part of my everyday life using this computer. It just runs continuously unnoticed. Only suggestion I have is for SETI@home to generate newsletters to be e-mailed on a regular basis (Monthly or less even) to bring everyone using the program up to speed on any developments with the project or program updates.
