Profile: AbHotten

Personal background
Hi, i'm AbHotten... as far as I know on this Planet since 1982.
I'm living in a small town in the middle of Germany.
Still going to school right now, but I hopefully will be finished by summer 2003.
After school, I will study IT. I hope i will get a job in teh Video-Game Sector. If not, Network-Tecnologies or programming (HTML, PHP, MySQL, Perl, Java, JavaScript, Pascal, YaBasic, VBasic, Assemlber...).
At the moment, i'm crunching with a "P3-800 128MB Win2K-SP2" machine (ca. 8h per WU with the Text client). As soon as possible, i will buy the Linux-Kit for Sony PlayStation2, connect it to my PC and crunch with it, too.
I can hardly wait until i can crunch the first Banchmark-WU with the PS2 and see how long it takes *gg*
My other hobbys are Skateboarding, Handball (playing and watching), doing a Radio-Show (www.crossoverkill.de) and listening to Music (Deftones, System Of A Down, Nine Inch Nails, KoRn...)

[Update:] Got a new machine: AMD Athlon XP 2600 512DDR PC4200 Win2k-SP4 (ca. 3h/WU)

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I saw the Graphic-Client runnig on a friends machine and since that time, i crunch 24/7.
I like the idea very much (many respect to the creators). I would say, it's the best idea since the establishment of the SETI-Projekt.
I was interrested in ET-Intelligence since i can think.
I was allways a big "Star Trek" fan, so it was just a little step.
Hopefully, we can make a first contact in my lifetime. I will do anything possible to help. That's why i run SETI@home.
