Personal background
I was born 4th of June 1979 in Helsinki, Finland. Since 1986 i've done this and that with computers, started programming basic at the age of 7, etc. Nowadays working as an IT support person, computers are not that much of a hobby anymore.

I'm planning to continue my studies to be an engineer, as I quit the school a few years ago. (oh, the stupidity..)

I live with a lovely woman, who has a lot of wedding plans, but we're still just engaged. Funny thing is that she is actually the one counting the work units for seti@home, because I usually use all the processortime to myself.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
From the beginning of 2001, i've been very interested in this project. Somehow it allways seemed so cool compared to cancer -research etc. "We might actually find ET life". Obviously there is life out there! ..Will we ever find it? If we do, what next. If it would be as close as couple hundred of light years away, it wouldn't still make much difference in our everyday life. Chances of communicating would be slim to nothing. I'm not very enthusiastic about the project anymore, but I keep s@h client running (in the girlfriends profile at least ;))

Seti@home project has allready made a lot. The Grid might not have ever developed without the kind of pioneers seti and it's millions of users are. If we don't find (intellectual) life in the galaxy and beyond, we can still be proud to have made life on earth a bit more sophisticated..
