Personal background
I am a high schooler in NC, USA. I have been a member since Nov 4 2002, and have lived on two continents. Thought I's toss that out there. Europe and USA. My life is pretty much centered around computers, and I know enough about 6 or so computer programming languages. Hey! What's there to lose...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Well, it's hard to say really. We just sort of just sprung up, according to Darwin. Why couldnt have happened some place else out there too?
2) We might not want to advertise our selves just yet. If there is other life out there, what's not to say they started a thousand or so years earlier? There technology is better and they might need a place to expand too... BUT, if they are friendly, it would be a good idea to see if they had anything to teah us...
3) I run SETI@home because it would be a curve in the world if we found "other" things out there. I have all these computers doing nothing most of the time. Why not help? Plus, it's great benchmark software too...
