Personal background
Hi folks,
my name is Ray. I was born in March 1978 and I live in Potsdam/Germany (pretty close to Berlin). I work in a administration center.
I am a Science Fiction but especially a Star Trek and Babylon 5 Fan. Of course I am very much interested in finding signs of other Civilizations out there. I really hope, finding them will help us to understand our selves much better. For example how important our planetary recources are. We still have so much to learn...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that it would be arrogant to believe that we are the only intellegent lifeforms in the entire universe. Discovering "the others" is just really a question of time. Maybe tomorrow or maybe in 50 years...no one can tell. But it will happen.
Maybe they find us faster than we find them. We are sending signals into space for some 40 now. Not directed to them but most of our transmissions go into space. So the fist signals can be heard some 40 lightyears from here.

This project is really great. By letting those WU's run through my PC, I feel like a scientist, like sitting near the arecibo radio telescope and wondering if I find something similar to that WOW! signal. I still wonder why it has not returned. Thank you for making SETI@home real. This way science is getting a touch of reality.

So, keep a channel open!
yours, Ray
