I hope for the existance of E.T. civilizations, and I hope for the success of the SETI program. I'm certain that we should also send signals "out there", the others might look for us just as hard as we do.
I joined the seti@home program for the reasons above, and also because I loved the idea of sharing my spare computer time for a noble idea.
