Personal background
Sirius is a double star very near of our solar system, is the most brillant of sky.

The star as been used by Egyptians like a calendar to calculate the floods of the Nil river.

During Roman period, the star take the name of Canicula, because in Summer she go up at same time of Sun, during heat wave period.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I contribute to SETI@home because I am sure extraterrestrial intelligence exists. In the previous years we have discovered first planets outside the solar system and in the next few years, I believe we go to discover extraterrestrial intelligence.
