Personal background
Hello all,
I'm from Portland Oregon. Im 19 and currently a student at PSU. My hobbies include reading MIT technology review and taking care of my garden. I have a dog (a schipperke) and 2 cats (pure black from hungary named Turbo and an orange one name Boris). I am usually on my computer, I am pale, and I get migraines from light exposure.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I personally think that the US has destroyed the country by slicing the budget of NASA and other programs. I think the search for extraterrestrial life is important. Input from other beings could prove scientifically fascinating and could also solve the nagging question of a supernatural spirit (which i DO NOT believe in). A beacon with the message in simple mathematics that we are here and where we are could bring other lifeforms to us. SETI is important in doing the opposite- searching for other beacons. The proof of other life in the solar system is needed to destroy our current belief that we are alone and are the most superior beings in the universe. If we prove we are not alone, we morph our ideas and could become a better race without huge egos. These are very simplified answers.
