Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I first started running the program when I read an article in a gaming magazine and have been a user ever since the summer of 1999. I have many PC\\\\\\'s running program. The project is awesome quite unique. I am glad to see it has come a long way and it has surpassed its original 2 year goal. Terrestrial contact is important part of reaching out for others out there. We are very limited to short range distances in our galaxy as far as travel. Further expansion to space will require help. We have advanced in new propulsion systems but they have limitations. Space travel was unheard of 70 years ago. So who knows what the next 100 years will bring. With develpment of of Plasma engines and robots. Distant travel for exploration is near or at least within my lifetime small travels are near. Finding a first contact is first and then again translation. The future is uncertain but there is no doubt our place is in space.
