Ahoy! Here's a bit about myself then: I'm Portuguese and I currently live in Porto wich is a city to the north of the country. I'm 23 (at least for now :)) and a student of Computer Engineering at Porto University.
My hobbies include playing all kinds of sports including tennis, football among others. Love to keep myself busy with some amateur web-designing and a few good PC games. And because no one can live without even a bit of art I can find confort and entertainment in music and cinema.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Well, I really feel unfit to answer such a question as "Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?"... if so, I hope we find out about it (at least that's what we're trying to do here). We must always keep in mind that we don't have necessarely to be finders, there's always a good chance we can be found. As every discovery, one of this nature would obviously bring up what's good and bad in humans. We can only hope that if such happens paranoia won't take over.
If we must send some kind of information about us, let's make it so that our very best side is shown.
This project is truly remarkable, not only because of it's goals but because it lets each one of us participate in something great. Even if we are never to find results in this at least we can say we tried. If you have a PC at home with time to spare and nothing to lose, just try SETI@home. It surely won't hurt to help ;) |
