Personal background
I'm 19 years old, I live in NY, my home Norwich NY, but I am going to college in Oneonta. I am studying music as my major, and art and music intrustry on the sides. I'm a big sci-fi fan, I always wonder what is really out there. I play the accordion, write music, and cartoon.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there is something out there, we just have to wait til they send us a telegram, either purposly or by accident, or until we actually go to them. I believe if a race has gotten to the point where they can travel to us, once we figure out communication, we will most likely be allies. Of course, perhaps there are funamentalists on their planet as well who do not wish to do so, so perhaps that may cause conflict. Wouldn't it be great to learn another race's history and find simularities and differences with it and ours? To find out what cultures they have, what lifestyles they live, what they think about on their freetime. Alien (if I may be so bold to call it that) music, alien art, alien literature, alien entertainment. Their laws and government, their religions, their answers to problems compared to ours.
I think seti at home is a great project, but, I think the screen saver should be more efficiant. I think it should move around a little and perhaps every thing could cycle colors every so often, that way it is more beneficial to the monitor of the computer. Other than that, its a great idea, and I will be running it as much as possible!
